More Needs for Cathie and Kirk October 16
by Andrea on 10/16/16Hi all! I hope you are safely back in your home here in Savannah. Cathie's granddaughter contacted me and asked if we could do a few more meals, so after talking with Lynn McL, we agreed we could do 3 meals this week. "Matthew" meant they went to Connecticut for the evacuation, but she said they are coming back and may already be back. Christine L. has offered a chicken meal for Wednesday night. If there is another night you could cook, please indicate that here in the comments below this post. Others can see what has been offered and what is still needed. Thanks! We will consider this week our final official week, but as always, being neighborly does not always follow a schedule. I'm certain that service feels good no matter how many times you offer it. Thanks so much!
Welcome to the Sonshine Ministry at Messiah Lutheran in Savannah

Hello to the Sonshine Volunteers! This is our new format for organizing the volunteer process in this ministry. It helps to streamline the process, avoiding multiple calls to ask/answer and comment. I hope you all will give it a try! Using technology seems to be a given nowadays. It does NOT mean you cannot use the telephone and call Andrea, or email Andrea, or just call the church office. We are trying to make it easier on everyone.
Here is how I see the process working: I will contact each of you whenever we get a request for help. That will come in a personal /group email. Once you have heard about a request, I will include a link to this page where you can come and offer to provide whatever service and give details. We will NOT use the name of the family in need on this public page, but initials or first names are fine. This page will be our interactive way of communicating with each other. Again -- it does not have to replace the phone or a personal email. You can always contact me and I can update this as required. Let's try!? If nothing else, new users will now know what a blog is! The information for each family/program will have it's own "introduction" and you can offer your services/advice/direction in the comments for everyone to read following that family post. (I will routinely approve these comments for publication to prevent any spam coming from the internet).
My contact information will always be in the emails I send, or click "contact us" here and it will come to me! Simple? Hope so. Thank you for your generous offers to serve one other.
